Sometimes music gives dreams wings: When Svetlana was only 12 Years old she travelled to all concerts of her then favorite Russian rock-band. Once she got even invited by the band to sing a song with them on stage. But - surprised by this invitation, no other song came to her mind but the national anthem. This colorful diversion of a rock-concert brought Svetlana next to a big applause even her first honorary.
Meanwhile the Ukrainian artist has conquered the big stages of her homeland and wins prizes at numerous contests. Thus the singer won first place in the “Grand Prix of Ukraine” 2009 in Odessa.
The winning song ”Svidanje”, a ravishingly swinging Charleston is of course also contained on her first CD at Gerhard Mattern media. This song deals with a vocal blink of eyes about a blown date and the Ukainian singer with the impressive specter of her voice of more than three octaves takes over the man’s, as well as the woman’s voice and imitates in the purely instrumental part even vocally a trumpet with a wah-wah silencer.
The title of the actual CD of Svetlana, “Look – I am here!” was also chosen for a good reason: In five most different songs, which were – apart of the Charleston- all composed and texted and recorded by Svetlana, the blond singer attracts definitely attention to herself. Variety of her songs, sung with her clear voice, goes from transparently arranged Pop-Rock songs (Prosti and Kapli) over poetic Singer-Songwriter Pop (Sevastopol-Moskva)all the way to emotionally ballad (Zoloto)that gets in its course some rocky guitar-accents.
Even though Svetlana sings all titles in Russian language, her message is truly international: she sings about life’s big theme: Love in all its different colors. For those who want to penetrate deeper in the songs, there is a booklet with an English translation included in the CD.
